Join the Phelps Mansion Museum and Broome County Historian Roger Luther for a presentation entitled:
VOTES FOR WOMEN – The Fight for Women’s Suffrage in Broome County.
It was around 1910 when attitudes toward Women’s Suffrage in Broome County started to change. Leaders of the “Votes for Women” movement emerged and organizations were formed. There were meetings, speeches, parades and a historic convention was held. This is the story of the fight for women’s suffrage in Broome County, the resistance it faced, and the women who nevertheless persisted.
Program will start at 6pm.
