Rentals

Located in the heart of downtown Binghamton, the historic 1871 Phelps Mansion Museum and the adjoining 1905 Ballroom are a unique setting for your next event.  Our venue is flexible and can be used for a variety of events including anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, and celebrations of life as well as corporate events. All ballroom rentals come with one free hour of access to the mansion. For smaller parties of 12 and under, the formal dining room is also available to rent.

Base Pricing

The base rate for events is based on 3 hours, if you would like to book for less time, include that in your initial inquiry. This rate can be combined with add-ons (see below).

Normal rate:

  • $525 for 3hr rental with 80 or less guests
  • $100 more for events with 80-120 guests
  • Can book extra hours for $150/hr

 

Non-profit/Community rate available. If you are a business located in downtown Binghamton, you qualify for a community rate. Please inquire!

Conventions and recurring rentals are very welcome. We are in particular open to recurring rentals on Monday or Tuesday nights — if you are a dance teacher in need of a space, for example, please reach out!

Policies

  • The Phelps Mansion Museum does not hold its own liquor license, guests who want to serve alcohol must arrange this themselves. Contact us and we will help! Please note that any parties over 75 people must have at least 2 bartenders
  • Estimated guest count is due upon booking, and a final count is due one week before your event
  • $50 non-refundable deposit required to hold your date
  • Payment required day-of event unless otherwise arranged
  • A Certificate of Insurance (COI) may be requested based on the size or nature of your event

Formal Dining Room

The formal dining room can be rented for $100/hr for a maximum of 12 guests.

Dishes and tablecloth are included. 

Have your party where the Phelps’ used to dine in style! The dining room is designed to look like an English style hunting lodge with distinctive molding and a unique squirrel and oak themed gasolier, original to the home. Off it sits a beautiful sunroom. 

Perfect for high tea, a special dinner with friends and family, or a very fancy book club night.
